LETTER TO DAREK

DAREK VOM GODINGHOFER WEG
My Little Puppy
October 22, 2001 – September 20, 2012

When you came to me you had some mighty paws to fill
You were young and curious,
We learned together how different you were
And how much the same you became.

You did a pretty good job of filling your Uncle’s paws
I thought Xaros was big, you grew to be even bigger.
Yet you stayed my little puppy.

You loved to roll around on the bed,
never sleeping on it, just playing and having a good time.
Whenever I sat down to get dressed to go to work,
You’d jump up on the bed and want to play.
You loved those tickle spots!

You watched me when I worked outside,
you watched (and helped) when we worked on the bikes.
You were always there, never in the way.

You loved your Little Baby, just like your uncle did,
and you also had your toy.
Never wanting to venture outside without one of them.
And a frantic search when it was time to go in!

It’s hard to let your best friend and little puppy go,
but now you can run again, chasing the kitties and squirrels,
and jump on and off the porch and bed like you used to.
You can breath easy, eat what you want, and frolic all day.

I said this to your uncle, and I will say it to you:
You cannot imagine how much I love you,
And no one can imagine how much I will miss you.

Have fun with Meik and Uncle Xaros. I know you all will be together.

 Goodbye, little puppy.
