LETTER TO XAROS

XAROS VOM GODINGHOFER WEG
POLICE K-9 – K-9 DEPUTY SHERIFF
March 3, 1993 – August 25, 2003

Xaros, you came to me when I was oh so sad,
And made me happy again.

I know that you have finally gotten to meet Meik.
I hope that you will be as good friends to each other
as you both were to me. Ask him about the skunk.

You’re in a place now where you have no more pain.
No more sickness. No more pills.
You’re able to run and frolic and chase the ball.
Little Baby is with you, you always carried him everywhere.
I’d find him all over the house, and you would get so frantic looking for him.
Let him play some, too.

You can have all the biscuits, cookies, and even carrots now.
I never knew a dog that loved vegetables like you did.
You always got all my peas and carrots from my TV dinners.

Remember when you came to America?
You were so happy to see someone that knew you,
Could talk to you, and let you out of that crate!

You were my protector, my partner, my friend, my companion,
my best buddy, and my little boy.

You loved everyone, and everyone loved you.
You were the sweetest dog I ever knew.

You cannot imagine how much I love you,
And no one can imagine how much I will miss you.

Have fun with Meik. I know you will be together.

 Goodbye, Xaros.

“He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.” – Author Unknown
